Measures
In order to guarantee a smooth service, we apply the following measures:
- Between requests for consultation and the consultation itself, there should be at least two working days in between. This gives us time to prepare the requested items.
- Requests should be as precise as possibe. Please provide precise references (title, author and copynumber) upon reservation of items.
- Consultation should be individual if possible, due to our relatively small reading room. Nevertheless, should you want to come with more people, we kindly ask you to inform us in advance.
- If necessary, you can take photographs (without flash), scans (own usb drive required) or copies, if the condition of the items allows for it and with the usual rules in mind that these are for personal and scientific use only and not for publication.
Make an appointment
Consultation in the reading room is possible on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, always between the hours of 9.00 and 12.00 and 13.00 and 16.00. A previously fixed appointment is necessary. You can do this by sending an email to crc@africamuseum.be and by filling out the registration form (fill out once) and the reading room form (to be filled out for each half day; choose a date and a time slot). Your appointment is only valid after confirmation on our part.
The library closes between the hours of 12 and 13.
How to get there
The reading room of the Resarch and Documentation Centre can be found on the ground floor of the CAPA building (to your right upon entering the building; don't forget to ring the doorbell) (Leuvensesteenweg 17, 3080 Tervuren).
There is a parking lot in front of the building and the building is accessible to people with reduced mobiity.
